More about the unit: The unit performance is excellent, huge soundstage, with extended tonal control. This is an excellent vintage example of the 1970s Pioneer power that so many companies tried to duplicate to compete. The SX750 was the in the upper class for mid range power. Most sold at or near its reasonable list price price of $399.95. It was offered in 1976-77 during the "silver face" receiver era, boasting 50 WPC with .01% distortion, a fact which is repeated no less than 5 times in the original Pioneer SX 750 brochure! The FM tuner section utilizes a dual gate MOS type FET and a 4 gang variable capacitor with a phase locked loop for Stereo stability and tonal over the air FM performance. If you are looking for a SX Series Receiver,-you should check this one out.

- The SX 750 was one of the first receivers to utilize oversize (15000 uf) capacitors in the power supply section for extended range.

- The amp section is Class AB OCL (output capacitor-less amplifier) or direct-coupled capacitorless output utilizing complementary push pull pairs of matched transistors. In this design the large caps only serve to filter power the Amp, not filter the actual output of the amp.

- The input/output RCAs, Speaker Terminals, and convenience AC outlets are mounted parallel to the base, for easy access.

- The gain stages/pre-amp/ tuner section are laid out on one large circuit board with unshielded input cables, resulting in better overall tonal quality.
