The Paradigm Mini Monitor V1 is a passive high quality monitor featuring a two-way, bass-reflex (ported) design. The monitor speakers include a 6.5" woofer and 1"titanium dome tweeter. These are a great sounding pair of speakers, and for those who have done a bit of research these have been upgraded. The speakers were recently serviced and upgraded by DALAUDIO. The drivers and cabinet is stock, but the crossovers were upgraded to reflect the best the speakers and cabinets can offer. They are priced accordingly. Please read entire ad. We are happy to have you listen to them with appropriate notice. We recommend clean amplifiers in the 25-75 watt per channel range to get the most out of these monitors.

Work Performed: The crossover electrolytic capacitors were replaced with high quality (higher voltage range) polypropylene audio grade capacitors (see photos of the caps out and caps in). The tweeters have also been serviced (ferro cooling fluids) to maximize heat dissipation. The results are a very smooth the high end. The lower frequency surrounds are all rubber and therefore not as susceptible to breakdown, and have a lot of life left. To help with what some perceived as a slight low end slight boominess, we used 33uf high quality audio poly capacitors and an extra pound of polyfill deadening to resolve. The current sound profile is provides for a flat overall range, very satisfying for its current price, with detailed but not overly bright imaging.

Common issues and maintenance
Tweeters: Prone to failure over time by loss of ferrofluid. They may require rebuilding by replacing the ferrofluid or domes.
Crossover: The stock crossover components, particularly the electrolytic capacitors, can degrade over time and drift in value.
Overall: While they perform very well for their original price, owners often suggest improvements to the sound via modification.

Potential modifications (completed)
Crossover upgrade: Replacing stock components with higher-quality capacitors, checking other components can significantly improve the sound.
Tweeter service: Cleaning and replenishing the ferrofluid, and potentially replacing the dome, can restore lost sparkle and clarity.
Sound dampening: Some users suggest adding damping material or other mods to reduce any boxiness or boominess.
