The Nakamichi RX-202 is a legendary, vintage 2-head stereo cassette deck celebrated for its show-stopping Uni-Directional Auto Reverse (UDAR) system, which physically ejects, rotates, and reloads the cassette tape to change sides rather than flipping the playback head. Released in the early 1980s, this unique design eliminates the azimuth misalignment and high-frequency loss typical of standard auto-reverse decks by keeping the tape heads fixed in a rigid, optimized position. Condition: This unit was recently serviced and set up by DALAUDIO and is in excellent operating and physical condition (please see photos). The following work was performed; replaced belt, tire, roller. Belt Cassette, Idler, Pinch Rollers (1- Correa - 5mm, 1- Idler, 1 - 1.2mm Square,1 - Roller). Cleaned lubricated entire transport mechanism. Check PSU and Logic boards, replace leaking 1000uf filter cap in 12 volt Logic board. Replace/Refresh/Clean / UV epoxy - traces near typical capacitor leak. Service manual alignment procedure for reversing tray and proper operation of unit. Test unit - FF,REV,REC,PB with three tape types and Nakamichi reference tape.
