DBX 200 Recording Technology Series Vintage Program Route Selector. This is a classic analog input source / destination router. Very popular in its day, for use with tape decks in the day, but can also be used for any other line level routing. Essentially it allowed the hook up of multiple tape decks to record masters at high quality. DALAUDIO recently tested the unit and operates as it should. A copy of the manual is included, please bring a USB Drive for a copy. The unit features inputs for sound processors and has the ability to add up to three! These three processor channels are coupled to a Post (after effect) and pre (no effect) Selector to compare the original signal from the poroccessed signal. Very useful even today! It lets you easily hook together as many as three decks, three sound processors, and a noise reduction unit. All through a single tape-monitor loop of your amp or receiver.

Processors types commonly used:

  • Graphic Equalizers
  • Reverb Units
  • Dynamic Range Expanders
  • Subharmonic Synthesizers
  • Sonic Maximizers

The DBX 200 is an excellent way to add system component inputs into your control amp/receiver/integrated amp (whichever) as you would normally hook up a tape deck (ie. in a tape monitor loop). You can then add up to three input sources.

Tape copying directly between decks is possible, and the Pre/Post switch lets you add processing before or after recording (but not dubbing).

The DBX 200X is the logical and inexpensive way to simplify your stereo.
