Crown PCC-160 Phase Coherent Cardioid Microphone - For relatively large boundary (flat) surfaces. This is a nice road kit of four (4) Microphones, and four (4) 15 ft. TA3F and XLR-male connector cables, specification sheets, and a 24 page Crown Boundary Microphone Application Guide. These 4 have never been mounted (see photos) and are in mint operating condition, recently tested by DALAUDIO. The microphones also come in a nice custom foam cut storage transport case.
Cash Sale No Holds Call or Text for Pick-up.
Note: If you just need one or two PCC-160 mics, we have two others that can be had for $100 each - these alternate mics are tested, but have seen a lot of use (see last two photos), and are not as nice as the others.
More Detail
The Crown PCC 160 is a rugged, professional boundary microphone designed for stages, lecterns, and conference tables. It features Phase Coherent Cardioid (PCC) technology for a smooth frequency response, a half-supercardioid polar pattern for excellent gain-before-feedback and reduced rear pickup, and a bass-tilt switch for low-frequency adjustments. This electret condenser microphone runs on phantom power, can handle high sound pressure levels up to \(120\text{dB}\), and is built with a durable steel body for reliability
Key features
- Polar Pattern: Half-supercardioid, provides high gain-before-feedback and rejects sounds from the rear, such as pit orchestras.
- Technology: Phase Coherent Cardioid (PCC) technology, places the diaphragm parallel to the boundary surface to prevent phase cancellations and ensure a wide, smooth frequency response.
- Bass-Tilt Switch: A switch on the base of the microphone adjusts low-end response. "Flat" position is standard, "Cut" reduces low-frequency noise, and "Boost" compensates for loss on smaller surfaces like lectern shelves.
- Durability: A heavy-gauge, all-steel body that makes it rugged and resistant to accidental abuse.
- Power: Requires 12 to 48 volts of phantom power and comes with a 15 foot cable with a TA3F and XLR-male connector.
- Performance: Can withstand up to 120dB SPL without distorting and has a frequency response from 50Hz to 18 kHz.
- Placement: Low-profile design with a side-mounted connector allows it to be placed discreetly on stages, lecterns, or tables. Screw holes in the base also allow for permanent mounting.
