DALAUDIO replaced/recovered the grills and cloth was replaced. While the grills were off, the the drivers were tested and inspected. These speaker driver units have the impregnated cloth surrounds and they are in excellent condition. The Bose equalizer was rebuilt and all capacitors were removed and replaced. Contacts on all switches cleaned and treated. The units were tested and are in very good operating condition.

Key Features and Design
Direct/Reflecting Technology: Instead of facing you directly, each speaker enclosure is shaped like a "V". Eight 4.5-inch full-range drivers face the rear wall to reflect sound, while only one driver faces the listener directly. This mimics the ratio of reflected to direct sound found in a concert hall. They create an incredibly wide "Stereo Everywhere" effect, making them fantastic background music speakers or great for parties and entertaining. Because they use your walls to reflect sound, proper placement is critical. They generally require stands placed close to walls, preferably in corners.
Note: While a lot of folks who sell these take pictures that show the angled back as a front view, it's actually supposed to face the rear. The flat panel face front. Please see original Bose series 1 manual!
Other Design Characteristics
No Crossover: The 901's design relies solely on identical, unmodified full-range drivers rather than a traditional tweeter/midrange/woofer setup with an electronic crossover.
Bose Active Equalizer: Bose 901 require an active analog equalizer (EQ) as many small drivers across all frequencies can result in an unbalanced sound. The EQ applies massive boosts to the bass and treble, connecting between the pre-amp and amplifier. DALAUDIO completely recapped the Bose equalizer to bring back the original sound.
No Series Marking: Unlike later generations (Series II through VI), the original Series 1 cabinets do not say "Series I" on their badges. You will only find "Bose 901" on the labels. We have provide brand new Bose logos.
